Dr. Lufuno Raliphada

Having recently served as an Executive Manager in the Office of Chief Executive: Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), Lufuno will oversee support functions like Strategy, Business Planning & Performance Monitoring, Capital Planning, Supply Chain and Corporate Affairs – consolidating these to a single point of accountability.

He has more than 22 years of working experience with his professional working life commencing in the civil society sector before joining the public service sector. Lufuno served in the public service sector for eleven years working in different government departments and at different capacities. These include Statistics South Africa as a Senior Librarian; the National Department of Social Development as Assistant Director of Information & Knowledge Management; the Department of Public Service & Administration as Deputy Director of ICT Policy, Strategy and Regulations; Director of ICT Oversight; Director of State Information Technology Agency Oversight and Director of ICT Compliance. Lufuno joined Transnet in 2012 as Senior Manager of Public Policy & Shareholder Relations and he was promoted to the position of Executive Manager in the Office of Group Executive Strategy in 2016.

Lufuno has qualifications in Information Studies and Cyber Law, holds a Master of Business Administration Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PHD). His PhD research focused on Impact Investment in the Banking Sector. He has certifications in the Senior Management Programme, the Advanced Management Development Programme, Social Research, Professional Chief Information Officer, Monitoring & Evaluation, Public Policy Formulation, ITIL (IT Service Management), COBIT (IT Governance) and Economics as well as Public Finance. He is a seasoned practitioner with a vast experience in the public sector spanning ICT, Public Policy, Social Sustainability and Executive Strategic Support.
