Ore Corridor (OreCor)
This corridor is about the movement of iron ore, manganese and other commodities on a single line spanning 861 kilometers with 19 crossing loops. It stretches from Sishen in the Northern Cape where the mines are situated to the Port of Saldanha in the Western Cape.
This World Class Heavy Haul operation runs world-record trains of 348 wagons for iron ore and 375 wagons for manganese, setting a benchmark as the longest production train globally.
This corridor operates a network of strategic depots along the corridor, including Saldanha, Vredendal, Loeriesfontein, Halfweg, Kenhardt, Groblershoop, Sishen and Upington.
